Saying Goodbye to Summer - Labor Day WeekendLabor Day weekend is upon us. If you are American, that probably means you are getting ready for a fun Labor Day cookout. If you are planning on throwing a party at your house or even heading over to a friends, you will want to savor the end of summer with this delicious creamy crockpot corn.
During corn season, I have been known to put up a bushel load of corn (by the way, that is a bunch!). My friends and I get together and send some poor willing soul to southern Arkansas, to claim our portion of the best corn in the state, and I would venture to say in the world! I can't describe the difference; you will have to taste it for yourself! Yum!!!
Since Labor Day is considered the unofficial end of summer, I will be celebrating at our annual Picnic at the Park and taking one of the best parts of summer with me! Don't feel bad if you have to use store bought corn, this recipe is still delicious! Enjoy!
Creamy Crock Pot Corn
• 2 pkgs. frozen corn (12 oz)
• 8 oz pkg of cream cheese
• ¼ c butter, cubed
• 2 T sugar
• 1 t salt
• ½ t pepper
1. Place corn in crock pot
2. Cut butter and cream cheese into cubes and place in crock pot
3. Add sugar, salt and pepper
4. Stir well
5. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or high for 2 hours
6. Stir at least once half way through cooking time
