5 WAYS TO SPEND YOUR SUMMER OUTDOORS
Now that Summer has officially arrived we want to spend all our time outdoors. I mean who wouldn’t, look at some of the gorgeous days we have been having so far! We are lucky to live in Toronto, because Toronto is an amazing city to spend a day outdoors. We have so many amazing activities and events that all include nature! Something that few cities have.
We have rounded up our top five favourite things to do in Toronto outside. These activities are great for date night, rounding up a group of friends or family day out!
1. Picnic – One of our all-time favourites is the classic picnic. The picnic is so simple; pack up the food you made for lunch, blankets, plates and cutlery and you have yourself a picnic! This is a great way to get outdoors and spend a couple of hours in good company. You will be amazed at how fast time goes by when you are having a picnic. Pro tip: Some of our favourite parks to picnic in include; High Park, Christie Pitts and Trinity Bellwoods.
2. Hike – Most people don’t know how many awesome hiking spots there are within an hour drive of Toronto. There are some amazing sights to be seen, like; The Scarborough Bluffs or the Hamilton Waterfalls! Hiking is a great way to be with nature and get some awesome exercise.
3. Festivals – Toronto is seriously the city of festivals. There are actually so many festivals going on this summer in Toronto it is nearly impossible to keep up with them all. Best part is that a lot of them are free and outdoors! Nothing like trying local food and hanging out in the sun. Some of our favourite Toronto festivals include; Summerlicious, Beaches International Jazz Festival, Salsa on St. Clair, Craft Beer Festival, Big On Bloor, Veg Food Fest and the CNE (obviously).
4. Paint in the Park – Did you know Pinot’s Palette does mobile events? That’s right, get a group of friends together and host a private event with us and we can come to you! Whether that be a rented out outdoor space or someone’s backyard. We bring the paint and sip to you.
5. Movies Under the Stars – There are so many free outdoor movies in Toronto, so not only can you spend all day outdoors but also all night! From the beaches to right in the heart of the city there are so many options. Don’t worry if being right outside is not your thing, we also have a great drive-in in Toronto! Enjoy a movie right from the comfort of your car, while still technically being outside.
