There is something really grounding about sitting down with a blank canvas and just... starting. No expectations, pressure to be or do anything specific. Just color, movement, and a chance to let your mind show down for a bit. Speaking from personal experience, painting can be such an underrated form of self-care. It gives you a break from screens, doom scrolling, letting your mind wander or overthink, and just in general always being in "go" mode.
And the best part? You get the rewarding feeling of having a finished piece at the end. Not because it's "perfect" but because it's yours and represents a time where you chose to prioritize yourself and your mind.
