The art of unwinding!
Relaxing and unwinding is something that often gets put on a back burner in our day to day lives. Whether it is due to working long hours, busy family life, or whatever else it may be, it's easy to forget the importance of taking a break. That's where the art of unwinding comes in- and sometimes, all it takes is a paintbrush, a canvas, and a little creativity.
As someone who struggles stepping away from work and responsibilities, I have found such mental peace breaking up my week by doing an activity such as painting. It provides me with a rewarding feeling since I get to walk away with a piece that I created and am proud of. It also brings me a sense of a fresh start and helps ease my mind from stresses that may have occurred earlier in the day or week. An activity such as painting or crafting serves as a mental reset and can help you mentally and physically unwind.
Self-care doesn't always have to mean spa days or vacations. Sometimes it's as simple as giving yourself permission to slow down, try something creative, and enjoy a few hours away from the everyday hustle!
