Frequently Asked Questions

Q) I don’t have any artistic talent? Will I be able to complete the painting?

Absolutely! Our artist will guide you step-by-step through the featured painting and will ensure that you stay on track to completing your masterpiece by the end of class. Nearly everyone is surprised at their inner Picasso! There are no mistakes, but Acrylic paint does dry quickly so we love to help you to adjust and perfect your work.

Q) How do I sign up for a class?

Signing up is easy. Click the "Classes" link on the side of the page to view our calendar of paintings. Select which painting you would like to paint and click "Add Painting to Cart." Follow the on-screen directions to complete the order. Contact us if you have trouble completing your order and we will walk you through the process.

Q) Where Do I Park?

We are located at 25 Harbor Point Road (between Bare Burger and Fortina’s). FREE PARKING is available at the rear of our building in the parking garage at 2200 Atlantic Street (easy access to the studio through the building lobby or door on lower level). Outdoor parking is availabe for FREE at the corner of Atlantic Street and Washington Boulevard. We are located a short walk or Harbor Point Trolley ride from the Stamford train station. http://www.harborpt.com/transportation/

Q) When do I need to arrive for class?

We recommend you arrive 15 minutes before class starts to allow time for you to get settled in and mingle before the painting starts.

Q) Can I bring wine? May I bring food?

Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including specialty cocktails, craft mocktails, beer, gourmet coffee and wine by the glass or bottle, are available for purchase at our bar. We do not allow outside alcohol. A selection of snacks, including Sweet P Collosal Cookies, are available for purchase. We have also partnered with local restaurants to provide food and/or special occasion catering and cakes for groups and private parties (see https://www.pinotspalette.com/stamford/blog/wine-entertaining/catering-partners).

Q) What days are classes held?

Public classes are almost always held on weekdays evenings, and Saturday & Sunday afternoons and evenings. View our class calendar to find out more! Private Parties are available any time.

Q) What should I wear to the class?

We will provide you with an apron but keep in mind that our paints will stain clothing. We recommend leaving your designer duds at home!

Q) Is there an age limit for the public classes?

Evening classes are an adult expience and are generally appropriate for children 14+. Kids 6+ are welcome to Family Day classes, Little Brushes, and some special events. If you have questions about a class or would like help finding an age-appropriate option, contact us at stamford@pinotspalette.com.

Q) Is there reserved seating?

Yes, we have your easel set up for you at your spot before you arrive for class. If you have friends attending the class that you’d like to sit by, you can let us know when you book the class or you can send us an email (just make sure to give us at least 24 hours notice). We operate a bit like the theatre. While reservations are not required, they are HIGHLY recommended so you are guaranteed a seat ready for you. Also like the theatre, we rely on reservations being used, so we have a strict cancellation policy in place. (See Cancellation Policy FAQ for Detail)

Q) What is the cancellation policy?

If your plans change and you can’t make your class, please let us know in writing via email as soon as possible. Please include a future class that you would like to attend instead and we will register you without penalty. Alternatively, we can issue a credit for a future class of a similar value (less a $10.00 rescheduling fee). Please note that we do not offer credits for class no-shows or for our special events (including, but not limited to, Kid’s Camp, Project Pet or Private Parties). You are considered a “no show” if an email is not received at least 2 hours prior to the start of your scheduled class.
