Picnic-Perfect Snacks for Your Next Painting Sessions
Whether you’re joining us in our South Hill studio or planning your own outdoor painting party, the right snacks can turn a painting class into a picnic for the senses. Keep it simple, pack light, and let the art (and wine) shine.
So what snacks are perfect for painting outdoors, or even inside the studio, without being too messy, involved, or taking up too much table space?
* Bite-Sized Cheeses & Charcuterie
Cheese boards don’t have to be fancy to feel indulgent. Pack a few cubes of sharp cheddar, gouda, or brie wedges along with some salami or prosciutto slices. Pair them with a couple of crackers, and you’ve got a no-fuss snack that pairs beautifully with both red and white wines.
* Fresh Fruit (No Sticky Fingers!)
Think of fruits that are easy to pop in your mouth without creating a mess: grapes, apple slices, or berries are perfect. They’re refreshing, pair well with most wines, and add a bright splash of color to your table, almost like edible inspiration!
* Veggie Sticks with Hummus
Crisp carrots, cucumbers, and bell peppers are a light snack that won’t weigh you down mid-brushstroke. Hummus cups make dipping easy and mess-free, and they fit right into a picnic basket or onto your painting table.
* Nuts & Trail Mix
Compact, shareable, and easy to transport, a small container of nuts or trail mix is ideal for outdoor painting sessions. Choose a mix with dried fruits and dark chocolate if you want a sweet treat to complement your wine.
* Chocolate (Because, Why Not?)
Speaking of sweets, a few pieces of dark chocolate or chocolate-covered almonds are a delightful addition. They’re elegant, easy to pack, and the perfect partner for a glass of red wine while you paint your masterpiece.
----- Studio or Sunshine, Snacks Fit Right In -----
One of the best things about Pinot’s Palette is that our classes are designed for fun, whether you’re joining us in-studio at South Hill or painting under the sky with friends. Snacks make the experience even more enjoyable!
* In-studio: Bring your favorite bite-sized treats and enjoy a comfortable setup with plenty of room for wine and creativity.
* Outdoors or at home: Grab a basket, pack your picnic-friendly snacks, and set up for a private party or one of our paint-at-home/virtual events. The art supplies are portable, the wine is optional (but encouraged), and the snacks make it feel like a true celebration.
