How do I sign up for a class?

Signing up is easy. Click the "Event Calendar" link on the top of the page to view our calendar of paintings. Select which painting you would like to paint and click "Add Painting to Cart." Follow the on-screen directions to complete the order.

What are your normal business hours?

Our office hours are Tue. and Th. 10am-2pm, Wed, Fri-Sat. 2-6pm for Kit Pick-up in addition to our regularly scheduled public classses. Check our calendar for Evening and Weekend Classes when the studio will also be open! For days without office hours, we will be in an hour or so before and after the scheduled class. When in doubt, look at our Event Calendar! Our studio is always available to host your Private Event 7 days a week.

What's the deal with Freestyle Afternoons?

Freestyle Afternoons are open studio events every Wednesday and Friday from 2-6pm where guests can sip and paint a 10"x10" self-guided canvas or try one of our other self-guided projects in an unstructured, relaxed atmosphere. Take one hour or three, no worries! An artist is on-hand to set up your paints, brushes and canvas for the painting you select, and to help you out with one-on-one assistance if you need it! We recommend starting your masterpiece no later that 5pm in order to finish in one session.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

Pinot's Palette cancellation and refund policy is as follows: Customer cancellations prior to 24hrs of class will receive a transfer credit valid for 60 days. Transfer credits may not be extended. In-studio classes cancelled by the business due to mandated government shutdown, inclement weather or other emergencies will automatically be replaced with a live virtual class or class recording and paint kit, available for pick-up at the studio or delivered for $10 shipping fee. In the event that an alternate format for the class is unavailable, a transfer credit will be issued. Customers may obtain a refund for the class transaction amount minus a fee to cover administrative labor and merchant services costs associated with card transactions. A $10 Service Fee will apply to all requested refunds $200 and under, or 6% of sales total over $200. There are no refunds for Paint Kits or any virtual class once the video link has been sent to the customer (day of the scheduled event for virtual events purchased from the calendar).

Is there an age limit for public classes at the Studio?

Yes, due to state liquor laws, all guests must be 21 years of age or older to attend a class in our Studio. We can however host all-age private parties at a venue of your choice, inquire here about an all-ages mobile private party: https://www.pinotspalette.com/southhill/private-party-how-it-works. There are no age limits on #PinotsLive and On-Demand Virtual Classes!

Are kids and minors allowed in the Studio?

No. Unfortunately due to state liquor laws, all guests in our studio must be 21 or older. We do however occasionally host events at off-site venues that accommodate minors. Check the calendar!

Can I bring outside beverages such as wine or beer into the studio for class?

No. Outside beverages are prohibited. BYOB is against the law in Washington for all public events.

I purchased a Painting Kit, when can I come pick it up?

Our dedicated hours for Painting Kit pick-up for our To-Go Kits and Virtual #PaintatHome and On Demand classes are Wednesday 2-6pm, Friday and Saturday 2-6pm. Kits may also be picked up other hours when we are in the studio. Check our normal business hours and Class Event schedule or please email us at southhill@pinotspalette.com for other Painting Kit pick-up times.

Do you offer shipping or delivery options for Painting Kits?

Shipping is available for most items offered at the South Hill Studio for $10. We are unable to ship 10x30 canvas Paint Kits. Our sister studio in Federal Way is also currently offering $5 shipping and complimentary delivery of Painting Kits for Virtual Private Parties within 10 miles of the Federal Way studio. What is in a Painting Kit? Do I need anything else to watch a Paint-at-Home Class?

Each Painting Kit includes instructions to set up your painting space, a canvas, paint brushes and paints tailored to your painting, in addition to a protective table cover, painting and mixing palette plates and paper towels. You will need to provide a paint water cup and your favorite painting outfit (or smock/apron). Easels are optional. Can I add beer and wine to my Online To-Go order or Virtual Class Reservation?

Absolutely! We have obtained a special license for curbside delivery of our beer and wine. We are not able to ship alcochol.

What does a class cost and what is included?

Virtual classes and Video Recordings start at $15. Painting at Home Kits start at $25. Our normal class prices range from $37 - $45, depending on whether it's a 2 hour, 3 hour, or Paint it Forward painting. Specialty classes range up to $79 and are offered once or twice a month. All classes include a 16x20" cotton canvas, use of our paint, paintbrushes, apron, easel, and step-by-step instruction provided by one of our awesome local artists. Wine and beer are also available to purchase at our bar.

When should I arrive for class?

We recommend arriving 15-20 minutes before class starts to allow time to get settle in and mingle with friends before the painting starts. Don't forget to bring your ID!

What do I need to bring to class?

We provide the canvas, easel, brushes, paints, and apron for the class. All you need to bring is your ID and any appetizers you might want during the class. We also provide the plates, napkins, and silverware. We have a fun list of local wine and beer as well as non-alcoholic beverages to choose from for purchase, and we always have complimentary water for all our painters!

Is there reserved seating?

Absolutely. We will have your easel set up for you at your spot before you arrive for class. If you have friends attending the class that you'd like to sit by, you can let us know when you book the class or you can send us an email, southhill@pinotspalette.com. *Private parties do not have reserved seating.

Are beverages included with the reservation cost?

Beverages are not included in the reservation cost. The main studio offers a great range of non-alcoholic, wine and beer by the glass from $2 to $10. There are no beverages available for purchase at the Ol' Hot Yoga studio; outside beverages permitted, alcoholic beverages are prohibited from all public classes at the Ol' Hot Yoga Studio.

What should I wear to class?

No dress code here...dress casual or dress up. We will provide you with an apron but painters have been known to get involved in their work of art.

I just received a complimentary class credit - how long do I have to use it, and what is it good for?

Congrats! Complimentary credits are valid for 30 days to 6 months from issuance, and are marked with their expiration date. Complimentary credits can be used to reserve non-specialty classes. Complimentary credits are not valid for food, beverages and merchandise purchases.

Where should I park?

There is free, fully lit parking provided at Sunrise Village 24/7. We recommend parking by LA Fitness or along 156th St E.

Can I bring a friend with me to sit and not paint in the main Studio?

Unfortunately due to our seating capacity we do not allow people to attend our painting classes with out a reservation.

What is the cost for a Private Event?

Private Events start at $370 for up to 10 painters, then are scaled to fit party requirements. If the party minimum is paid at booking, the $99 reservation Fee is waived. We offer Private In-Studio, Mobile and Virtual Events with Supplies.

I don't have any artistic talent. Will I be able to finish the painting?

Absolutely! Our artist will guide you step-by-step through the featured painting and will ensure that you stay on track to completing your masterpiece by the end of class. There are no mistakes, but acrylic paint dries quickly, making mistakes easy to fix and perfect.

What is the reservation fee for a Private Event? Is it refundable?

The reservation fee for a private event is $99 and is non-refundable. If the event is cancelled, Pinot's Palette retains the reservation fee in accordance with the cancellation policy.

How much do drinks cost?

Wine by the glass ranges from $7-$10 (including tax) and it's even cheaper to purchase by the bottle and split with friends. Microbrews are $6-9 (including tax). We also have a fun selection of non-alcoholic drinks to choose from!

How many people can fit in the Studio?

During Phase II of the Washington Safe Start Plan, our main studio accommodates up to 20 painters plus staff. Regularly, the main studio seats 48 customers, and the private party room seats 24 customers. Booking minimums for private events apply to the studio during peak times, please email southhill@pinotspalette.com for more information.

Can I bring food into the Studio?

Yes! Outside and catered food is welcome. We also have snacks available for purchase at the main Studio.

I'm looking for an awesome meeting venue, can I host my meeting at Pinot's Palette?

Absolutely. Contact our studio for rates and availability. All room rentals come with a bartender, sound system and T.V. display.

When does the next calendar get posted?

We post the next month's calendar around the 15th of the month. If you'd like to receive an email each month when our new calendar is posted, be sure to add yourself to our email list, or like us on Facebook to get notified there!
