Art Class for Homeschool Students @ Pinot's Palette
*COMING SOON!* If interested, fill out the google form!The Art Program for our local homeschool students introduces students to the creative process through a structured, month-by month progression. Each month focuses on a new artistic theme and includes guided instruction in sketching, drawing, blending, and painting techniques. Students practice skills throughout the month, building toward a completed 8x10 painted canvas during the final class of each month. This progressive structure supports fundamental artistic development while providing students with a finished artwork they can proudly take home!
Program Goals
• Teach foundational art skills including sketching, shading, blending, and texturing.
• Encourage creativity, imagination, and artistic expression.
• Build student confidence through successful completion of a monthly final project.
• Strengthen fine motor skills and visual planning abilities.
• Provide a fun, enriching after-school experience for elementary students.
Monthly Instructional Flow
Each month follows a consistent instructional progression designed to gradually develop technique and artistic
skill:
• Week 1 – Theme Introduction and Basic Sketching: Students learn shapes, lines, and structure.
• Week 2 – Developing Form, Composition, and Color Mixing: Students practice painting smaller projects focused
on technique.
• Week 3 – Guided Painting Practice: Students explore blending, layering, and texture.
• Week 4 – Final Project: Students complete a full 8x10 canvas representing the month’s theme.
Each monthly session is $150 for full 4 week months.
$135 for any partial month due to holidays or studio closures.
We are also offering a 10% sibling discount for each additional child.
JANUARY - ANIMALS - Learn to sketch animals using simple shapes.Practice fur texture and color blending. Final Canvas: Safari Animal Portrait (lion, elephant, or giraffe).
FEBRUARY- FLORALS - Learn to draw petals, stems, and leaves. Practice color layering and floral composition. Final Canvas: Vase or Bouquet of Flowers.
MARCH -GALAXIES - Explore blending, circular forms, and star techniques. Final Canvas: Galaxy with Planet/Space Scene.
APRIL -OCEANS - Sketch waves, ocean life, and shorelines. Practice blue gradient blending and texture. Final Canvas: Ocean Sunset or Beach Scene.
MAY -TREES - Learn tree structure, branch formation, and leaf patterns. Practice texture techniques. Final Canvas: Seasonal Tree
(student’s choice).
JUNE - AUGUST - Summer Break! Check out our Summer Camp Blog!
SEPTEMBER -ABSTRACT ART - Explore abstract shapes, Line, form, and expressive color. Final Canvas: Abstract "Emotion in Color' Painting.
OCTOBER - LANDSCAPES - Sketch horizon lines, foreground and background layers. Practice creating depth in artwork. Final Canvas: Autumn or Halloween Landscape Scene.
NOVEMBER - REVIEW/CHOICE - Review all art techniques learned throughout the year. Final Canvas: Student Choice Canvas or Collaborative Art Show Canvas.
DECEMBER WINTER/HOLIDAY - Learn winter shapes, cool color palettes, and festive imagery. Final Canvas: Winter or Holiday Canvas.
