Dolly: We Will Always Love You
Losing Dolly Parton feels especially heavy because she gave the world so much more than great songs, rhinestones, and an unforgettable personality. Dolly spent decades quietly putting her success to work for other people.
Through her Imagination Library, she helped put books into the hands of millions of children, while her foundation and personal giving supported education, medical research, disaster relief, and communities in need. She made generosity feel joyful, like something you could do without making it about yourself.
Maybe one of the best ways to remember Dolly is to keep a little of that spirit going: have fun, be yourself, and leave somebody else’s corner of the world a little brighter.

Come out on September 25th to paint 'Rhinestone Queen’ (*shown, above); It’s a little country, a little glam, and a lot of fun.
The Dolly-inspired painting has plenty of color and a little sparkle (*rhinestones included!), but this class has some extra heart behind it, too… It’s part of Pinot’s Palette’s Painting It Forward program, where purchasing a seat also contributes to a nonprofit or community fundraiser.
In remembrance of the lovely and great Dolly Parton, we'll be donating the proceeds of this class to her Imagination Library foundation.

And somehow, Dolly’s loss comes during a year when we’ve had to say goodbye to an extraordinary number of people who made the world more interesting, expressive, compassionate, and colorful.

-- Gloria Steinem spent a lifetime pushing for equality and giving women a louder voice.
-- Yayoi Kusama devoted her life to making wildly imaginative art and held onto her belief in the power of love until her final days.
-- David Hockney taught us to notice color, light, beauty, and everyday life differently.
-- Peter Cullen, the unmistakable voice of Optimus Prime and Eeyore, built a beloved career around characters that represented gentleness, loyalty, courage, and heart.
<3 <3 Losing someone like Dolly would have been enough on its own. Losing so many bright lights so close together is a reminder that the world doesn’t automatically stay kind, creative, or colorful… we have to keep making it that way. <3 <3
