Come Paint and Help Hurricane Harvey VictimsWe're looking to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Harvey and we're tackling this feat the way we know best: by painting.
Just a few days ago, Hurricane Harvey hit the Texas coast, destroying lives, homes, and land in its wake. With rainfall topping 50 inches in some areas in just 4 days, the results were disastrous, to say the least.
Hundreds of thousands of homes, displaced more than 30,000 people, and prompted more than 13,000 rescues. Even as the wind and rain moved on, Houston and surrounding areas have continued to suffer consequences of the storm.
Unfortunately, being on a coast, ourselves, we know all too well what the threat and reality of a hurricane can mean. Never fully knowing where it will hit, when the worst will come, and how bad it will be in the end, we understand, more than some, the tragedy that was 'Harvey'.
In times like these, it's truly humbling to see just how fragile our world is when it comes to nature. Throughout it all, we as the human race, have prevailed. There have been countless photos and reports of selflessly brave people who have risked their lives to help those in need. Wading through extremely high waters to rescue humans and animals, alike, the true heroes have shown themselves, at a time when they are needed the most.
We're a long distance from Texas, here in Raleigh, but we want to help in any and every way we can. If you're looking to help, as well, we want to invite you to paint with us on September 6, from 7-9pm. We'll be donating all of the proceeds from the class to the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
We've set up a class for Wednesday (9/6), and are hoping to fill it up! The more people we have, the more money we'll be able to raise and send to those who need it most right now. The painting we've selected, depicts a beautiful landscape with a patriotic sky. This painting is a perfect way to remember our amazing country and the incredible people who band together to help one another, in a time of need. It would also make a perfect gift for a loved one, as well!
We hope you'll come in to Pinot’s Palette, Brier Creek, for this event. Bring friends and family along to paint, as well. Enjoy time together, painting and conversing, and know that it's for a great cause. There are so many organizations and individuals out there who are working hard to help the victims. We want to do our part and hope that it makes a difference for some families in need. Come and be a part of this event with us, and thank you, in advance, for working with us to help those in need.
