Your Group Chat Needs a Night Out in the Short North
Someone sends "We should get together soon." Everyone agrees. Three weeks later, nobody has picked a date. Sometimes the easiest way to make it happen is to choose one activity, send the link, and give everyone a place to meet. A paint and sip night in the Short North is a good place to start.
There's something nice about sitting down with friends and having a canvas in front of you. You have a reason to put your phone away, a painting to work on, and time to catch up between brushstrokes. Someone might follow every instruction. Someone else might decide the sky should be purple. That's part of the fun.
At Pinot's Palette Short North, our artists guide you through the painting step by step. You can come for a birthday, a date night or simply because it's been too long since you've seen your friends. You don't need a special occasion to put an evening on the calendar.
Make a night of it on North High Street
Our studio is at 691 North High Street, Suite 101, Columbus, OH 43215, in the Short North Arts District between Russell and Buttles. If you're meeting for dinner too, choose your painting event first, then plan the meal around it. Give yourselves enough time to finish eating, walk over and settle in without checking the clock through the last few bites.
Before you head out, check street parking or nearby garage options, including current rates and restrictions. Share the studio address with everyone in advance. A few minutes of planning means fewer "Where are you?" messages when you're supposed to be enjoying the evening.
What if nobody in our group can paint?
You don't need painting experience for an artist-guided event. We provide the supplies and walk you through the project. Your job is to give it a try. The paintings can turn out differently even when everyone starts with the same instructions, which gives you something to compare at the end of the night.
Wear something comfortable that you wouldn't mind getting paint on. An apron helps, but acrylic paint can stain fabric. Drinks are available for purchase, and water is complimentary. No outside beverages are allowed, including nonalcoholic drinks. Guests must be 21 or older with valid ID to consume alcohol.
A few friends or the whole birthday crew?
For a small group, a public event is an easy starting point. Find a painting and date you like on our Event Calendar, share that event's link, and include your friends' names in the seating request when you book. Check the listing for the price, event length and age guidance.
If you want a gathering just for your group, ask about a private painting party. Tell us your preferred date, estimated guest count and what you're celebrating. We can talk through painting choices, availability and pricing with you. It's an option for birthdays, bachelorette celebrations, work outings or a reunion that deserves more than another round of "We really should do this."
Reserve before you make the trip
Advance registration is requested for public classes. Walk-ins may be able to join if an event is running and space is available, but a class can be cancelled before you arrive. Booking ahead helps us plan for your group and reduces the chance of finding the studio closed.
