Painting it Forward
Tuesday, October 16
7:00 - 9:00PM
A dusky Metallic Golden autumn forest reminiscent of a fairy tale forest like the one we read about in “Hansel & Gretel”! All that is missing are some bread crumbs to help you find your way home!
We are a BYO studio but provide all the glassware, ice, plates, napkins, silverware, corkscrews and bottled water. Everyone coming into the studio needs a reservation, non-painters are not allowed in due to seating capacity. Our public classes have the following age requirements: 10 to 17 years old with a painting adult, or 18 years old and up. We will be donating $10 per painter provided there are at least 15 painters.
Cancellation Policy: A full refund can occur if notification of cancellation occurs at least 48 hours before the start of class. You can also have the option to put the reservation on hold for a later date or transfer the reservation to another class. If it's greater than 24 hours of the start of class, the reservation can be put on hold or transferred to another class. Loss of payment will occur if no notification of cancellation occurs or if notification occurs less than 24 hours prior to the start of class.
About the Olathe Visual Artists History:
The need to promote the arts in the community of Olathe was first recognized by a handful of local arts enthusiasts, one was Norma Silvers. She became the first president of the Olathe Arts Council when it was officially founded in 1978.
In 1987, OAC President Deborah Volkland united the Olathe Theatre, Band, Orchestra, Chorus and the Arts Council under one umbrella to form the Olathe Arts Alliance.
In 1993, the Olathe Arts Council, presided over by Don Dane, became known as the Olathe Visual Artists, Inc. As a non-profit organization, the group was funded in part by membership fees, by money from the Olathe Arts Alliance, and by the Public Arts and Cultural Commission.
The Olathe Visual Artists is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting art and building an artist community in Olathe. The Olathe Visual Artists annually award scholarships to College bound high school art students who will study art in college.
OVA also sponsors art fairs, workshops, art contests and art classes for children held at the First Art Gallery of Olathe.
