The Power of ArtArt, both creating and viewing it, can be a very powerful force. When we look at a piece of art, our brains have the same response as if we were looking at someone we love.
In this study, people were examined in an MRI while looking at great works of art. When they saw a piece they liked, there was as much as a 10% increase in blood flow to the pleasure centers of the brain. That translates to feeling really good!
Art is incredibly important to all of us, even if we didn't know it. We try to expose children to art, but adults should keep up that exposure. On your next date night, try going to a museum or an art gallery, come to a Pinot's Palette class, or just grab some supplies and make something together. Keep art an active part of your life, you won't regret it.
