Holiday Shopping Guide
It’s that time of year again; the holidays. The time of year where everyone loves to get cozy in their big sweaters, drink lots of coffee and tea and decorate their houses with all the lights. While this can be a magical time of year, it can also be one of the most stressful, namely because of gift buying.
When you are buying gifts not only do you have to deal with the stress of trying to find all the presents but you also have to deal with large crowds of people at the mall, the crazy long lines at the cashier and those messy store shelves. Long story short, it can be a pain. We put together our top eight tips for your holiday shopping adventure.
1. Good Shoes - Be sure to find a good pair of comfortable shoes. You will be on your feet a lot and running from store to store, so it is important to have a comfortable pair of shoes. Nothing is worse than trying to run around in uncomfortable shoes. You basically just end up stumbling around and that is just not an efficient use of your time. We recommend a solid pair of running shoes.
2. Shopping List - PLAN! We cannot emphasize enough, but we will try. Always have a game plan BEFORE you leave for shopping. Knowing what you are buying and from where, is the best time saver when it comes to holiday shopping. A good plan in like an art, so take your time and do it right.
3. Snacks - It is so important to keep your energy up when you are spending all day on your feet, interacting with other humans. Nothing is better on a stressful day of shopping and waiting in line than a chocolate chip granola bar. Emphasis on the chocolate.
4. Caffeine - Speaking of energy… This doesn’t need much explaining, but to avoid and tired mood swings while waiting in line with a good coffee or tea. This can truly be a lifesaver in these stressful shopping trips.
5. Comfortable Clothes - This goes hand in hand with tip #1. Forget about fashion for a day and put on those embarrassingly comfortable sweats and a slouchy tee. When everyone is tugging at their too tight and scratchy clothing you will be thankful that you wore your most comfortable clothes.
6. Phone Charger - If we have learned anything about holiday shopping, it is that there is a lot of calling and internet searches involved. Need to call a store to see if something is in stock or search to find where you can get a particular item? Your phone is your go to for this kind of stuff and nothing is worse than reaching for a dead phone. Portable chargers are key! Never get caught in the unknown.
7. Coupon/Flyer Book - The holidays can get expensive! Keep a sharp eye out for deals and coupons that you can use to save a few extra bucks here and there. Believe up these little savings add up!
8. Shop Online - Finally, we live in the amazing age where you can find almost anything online. Take the stress completely out of your holiday shopping by doing it all from the comfort of your own bed, all while in your pjs whiling drinking hot cocoa and having classic holiday movies on in the background. Thank you internet.
