Frequently Asked Questions
Are there age requirements?
You must be at least 18 years old to attend a public class (13 to 17 if accompanied by an adult). Family Day classes are for ages 7+. Due to the nature of our classes, and for the enjoyment of all of our guests, we cannot accommodate babies or toddlers.
Do I need a reservation?
Reservations are not required but are highly recommended in case the class is sold out. We have assigned seating such that if you don't have a reservation but your friends do, you may not be able to sit with them. If you don't have a reservation, please arrive approximately 30 minutes early so we can get you set up and settled in.
What is the public class cancellation policy?
A full refund can occur if you cancel at least 48 hours before the class starts. You also have the option to put the reservation on hold for a later date. The reservation can be put on hold to be used for another class if the cancellation is received at least 24 hours before the class starts. Loss of payment will occur for "no shows" or a cancellation with less than 24 hours notice.
Is the wine included with the class?
No, because some of our guests choose not to drink during their class. Your bar tab (if any) is extra.
Can I bring my own wine?
Sorry, BYOB is not allowed by our liquor license but we carry a wide variety of wines and beer for your enjoyment.
How much does it cost?
The vast majority of our classes are $42 for a 2 hour painting but we do offer Family Day classes (primarily on Saturday afternoons) at $35 per painter and specialty classes for which prices vary. Check our Event Calendar for specific class pricing.
What is the minimum and maximum number of guests for a private party?
Events in June's Room require a minimum of 12 paying guests and a maximum of 32 guests for a portrait-oriented painting and 28 for a landscape-oriented painting. Events in the Main Studio require a minimum of 31 guests and a maximum of 72 guests for a portrait-oriented painting and 60 for a landscape-oriented painting.
What happens if I don't meet the minimum for my private party?
The organizer of the party will be responsible to make up the difference if a minimum guest count is not met. The payment to cover the minimum will come from the deposit first and, if necessary, an additional charge upon the conclusion of the event.
What is the private party cancellation policy?
Deposits for mobile events, corporate events or private parties in June's Room are fully refundable if the event is cancelled with at least 14 days advance notice. Events in the Main Studio require at least 30 days advance notice.
Do I have to pay in advance?
Since our seating is limited, we take payment at the time of reservation. We do take walk-ins but we cannot guarantee we will have availability.
How do I make a reservation?
Signing up is easy. Click on the "Event Calendar" link near the top of the page to view our calendar. Select the painting you would like to paint and click "Add to Cart." Follow the on-screen directions to complete the order. Or call the studio and we will be happy to take your reservation over the phone. You can also stop by the studio during our operating hours and make your reservation with our Studio Host.
Can I bring a friend or family member with me to watch but not paint?
To ensure a full and fun experience for everyone, we do not allow non-painting guests. After all, our motto is Paint. Drink. Have Fun.
Is there assigned seating?
Yes, we have assigned seating for all of our public classes. This ensures that there will be space for your entire party to sit together. Your easel and supplies will be set up for you at your personalized spot before you arrive for class. Let us know if you have other friends attending when you make your reservation by clicking on the "Edit Painter Details" button so we can sit you together. Private Parties do not have assigned seating.
How is assigned seating determined?
There is not a bad seat in the house because we have an 80" TV to show the artists every brush stroke. However, if you have a favorite spot, simply list it in your reservation. If there are multiple requests for a certain spot, Pinot Perks members will have priority.
I can't even draw a stick figure. How can I create an entire painting?
It is easier than you might imagine because our artist guides you step-by-step through the painting and provides tips and tricks to help you create your masterpiece. Our mission statement is to bring art to the masses – even I can do it!
What time should I arrive?
We recommend you arrive approximately 20 minutes before class to beat the rush at the bar, get settled in and socialize with your friends before the class begins.
When is the next month's calendar posted?
We post the next month's calendar around the 10th of the month. If you'd like to receive an email when our new calendar is posted, be sure to sign up for our newsletter.
What should I wear to class?
No dress code here - dress casual or dress up. We will provide you with an apron but accidents happen and acrylic paint does not wash out of clothing.
What do I need to bring to the class?
All you need to bring is a smile. We provide the canvas, easel, brushes, paints, and apron for the class. We also provide a fun list of wines, beer, soft drinks and teas for purchase. Feel free to bring your own snacks.
Are non-alcoholic beverages available?
Yes, we have soda, water, iced tea and juice boxes for the kids.
