July’s featured artist is Pierre Renoir. Renoir was born in 1841, in France. He is most famous for being a part of the Impressionism style of painting. Renoir had humble beginnings with his parents being a tailor and seamstress. By the end of Renoir's life he had sold a painting that was featured in the Louvre, in Paris France. As a boy he would go to the Louvre and study the paintings displayed trying to emulate the great works of art.
We will be painting a piece inspired by Renoir's “Venice Fog”. As we learn more about Pierre Renoir we will also be studying the “feathery” brushstrokes that he was famous for as well as blending techniques.
Channel your inner Impressionist and come paint with us on Thursday, July 28th at 7:00 pm!
