Little Brushes: Summer Camp!

Little Brushes: Summer Camp!

Pinot's Palette's Summer Art Series is a week long virtual summer camp focusing on different artistic aspects each week.

This session has been developed for teen artists ages 13-18. We also have a session that has been developed for young artists ages 6-12.

Summer Art Series Week 1- Beginning Drawing - Line & Structure

Have a teen ages 13-18 who’s taken a serious interest in creating art? In this virtual, introductory course to visual image making, we will begin our studies this week with an introduction to drawing. We will gain essential knowledge on visual perception and a brief look at the history of drawing and its many applications. We will explore line and structure, learn to compose and balance out our drawings, and exploit creative impulse. A committed attitude and willingness to experiment will be paramount in this course.

THIS IS A WEEK LONG COURSE WITH 1.5 HOURS OF VIRTUAL INSTRUCTION PER DAY (MONDAY-FRIDAY) 6/15/20 THRU 6/19/20.

MON - Intro to Sighting (How to see)
TUE - Organizational Line Drawing
WED - Basic Composition
THU - Contour Drawing
FRI - Gesture Drawing

**You Will Need to Purchase Materials for the Camp**
You will receive a supply list that details everything you will need TO PURCHASE for the entire week. Items include worksheets, a folder, multimedia paper, index cards, pencils, colored pencils, charcoal pencils, an eraser, a pencil sharpener, a ruler, stencils, etc. You may already have many of those items in the house already! You'll receive an email link to join the live interactive class from home or anywhere else!

Please note that this specific week's focus is on drawing, not painting. There will be more intro courses to come, each week being different, some of which will entail painting, as well as other mediums, such as charcoal, pastels, etc..

If you experience technical issues during the live class or are unable to attend, a recording of the class will be available for 4 days following the event.

Frequently Asked Questions

Check out our FAQs to learn more about what to expect from your Pinot's Palette experience or feel free to call the studio to speak to a member of our staff.

  • Q) I don’t have any artistic talent? Will I be able to complete the painting?

Absolutely! Our artist will guide you step-by-step through the featured painting and will ensure that you stay on track to completing your masterpiece by the end of class. Nearly everyone is surprised at their inner Picasso! There are no mistakes, but Acrylic paint does dry quickly so we love to help you to adjust and perfect your work.

  • Q) How do I sign up for a class?

Signing up is easy. Click the "Classes" link on the side of the page to view our calendar of paintings. Select which painting you would like to paint and click "Add Painting to Cart." Follow the on-screen directions to complete the order. Contact us if you have trouble completing your order and we will walk you through the process.

  • Q) When do I need to arrive for class?

We recommend you arrive 15 minutes before class starts to allow time for you to get settled in and mingle before the painting starts.

  • Q) Where the heck are you?

We are in beautiful and hip Harbor Point in Stamford, next to the water. Our address is 25 Harbor Point Road, near Exhale Spa and World of Beer. Be wary of GPS directions...they often lie! When you sign up for a class, you will receive a class reminder with detailed written instructions on where to park and how to get here. Come check us out! You'll be glad you did.

  • Q) Can I bring wine? May I bring food?

Wine and Beer is available for sale by the bottle or glass at some of the most reasonable prices in the area. Other beverages such as coffee are available for purchase as well. Bottled water is always free. In order to facilitate a potential desire to bring a nice bottle of wine or hard alcohol, we allow limited BYOB for a $15 per bottle corkage fee. We will provide glasses, ice, etc. We do expect all painters to be responsible with alcohol on and off the premises. You are encouraged to bring food for you and your guests to eat. We will provide refrigerator and countertop space. With advance notice, we can also arrange for catered food to be made available to you through one of our local partners.
