Announcing: Children’s Summer Art Camp From Home!
Have a 6 to 18 year old who’s taken a serious interest in creating? If you do, then our Little Brushes Summer Art Camp will be an especially exciting event! These weekly sessions [Monday – Friday] will be held all through the summer starting June 15th. Each week there will be two separate classes: one for 6-12 year olds and another for 13-18.
All sessions are LIVE INTERACTIVE VIRTUAL CLASSES -- they will be available online but will not be held in the studio.
While there will be different classes each week, here's an example of what will be offered for the 6-12 year old group during Week 1:
The Elements & Principles of Art. In this virtual crash course to visual image making, we will begin our studies this week with an introduction to the Elements and Principles of art. We will explore different ways that art is implemented in our daily lives, gain knowledge of the core components that make up any art piece, and we will put this knowledge to the test by applying what we learn to a project that will be completed throughout the week! A positive attitude and willingness to experiment will be paramount in this class.
This is a week-long course -- Monday, June 15th through Friday, June 19th -- WITH 1.5 HOUR INSTRUCTION PER DAY from 1:00 - 2:30.
MON - Intro to the Elements and Principles of Art
TUES - Reviewing Space, Lines, Shapes, Patterns, and Texture
WED - Intro to Proportion/ Scaling, Form, Movement, and Value
THUR - Movement (continued), Value (continued), Intro to Balance and Unity
FRI - Intro to Color Theory
Once you have completed the online registration, you will receive a complete list of the easy-to-obtain supplies that are needed for the entire week, such as index cards, pencils, colored pencils, charcoal pencils, an eraser, a pencil sharpener, and ruler. You will also be emailed a link to join the live interactive class from home!
We know you'll agree it's a great idea -- and the total price for each full week of classes is only $99!
Please note that this specific week's focus is on drawing, not painting. There will be more crash courses to come, each week being different, some of which will entail painting, as well as other mediums, such as charcoal, pastels, etc..
If you experience technical issues during the live class or are unable to attend, a recording of the class will be available for 4 days following the event.
For questions or assistance in registering, please email the studio [firstname.lastname@example.org] or call 609-853-0024
