Old Pasadena Day of the Dead
Old Pasadena Day of the DeadWhat is Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos)?
Dia de los Muertos is an ancient Mexican tradition held November 1st (All Saints Day) and 2nd (All Souls Day), when families welcome the visit of their departed loved ones by cleaning and decorating grave sites, or creating a memorial altar in their home or business.
Altars can be dedicated to deceased artists and celebrities, or family members. The most common decorations are framed photographs, mementos of the deceased, flowers, food, sugar skulls and toy skeletons.
