The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is the inspiration for this art piece. The 1925 novel follows a group of acquaintances living in the fictional town of West Egg on prosperous Long Island in the summer of 1922. This art piece brings to life on canvas the decadence, idealism, social excess and resistance to change that was characteristic of the Jazz Age and the Roaring Twenties.
