Free Things to do in Charleston you Might Not Know AboutThere are tons of unique, fun activities to do or events to go to in Charleston during the summer, and surprisingly many of these events are free. If you can’t afford to splurge on a fun event every single weekend, check out these activities happening here in Charleston this summer, and the best part is, they are all free (or almost free).
Folly Beach Movie Night
Tides Folly Beach hosts a Beach Movie Night series every Wednesday through August 23rd. Every week a new movie is shown on a huge projector screen on the beach. Each film starts around sundown, so check the Tides Facebook page for start times and a calendar noting what movie is playing each week. Bring a huge blanket, or a beach chair, sit out and relax while watching a movie on the beach!
Yoga with King of Pops
Every Tuesday through September 26th, King of Pops will be hosting yoga classes at the Riverfront Park in North Charleston. Classes are from 6:15-7:00PM each week. Grab a yoga mat and head to the park to enjoy a free yoga class every week all summer!
Dance Classes at Prohibition Bar
Prohibition, a bar located downtown on King Street, is offering free swing dance lessons every Wednesday starting at 7:00PM. Participate in a free swing dance lesson from Steven Duane, followed by live jazz music by the V-Tones. Bring a friend, or significant other along to learn new dance moves!
Whether you love to dance to live music, or you just want to get out of the house to enjoy a good movie, there is a free event for you to go to that’s sure to be a good time! Check back next week for more free events going on around the city. If you know of any other fun activities happening in the community, feel free to share them with us on Facebook!
