When you make your own dressings, you can control the ingredients, and save a lot of money. You can buy ingredients to make your own dressings and make 3-4 batches of dressing for the price of buying just one bottle of most quality salad dressings. If you’re looking to spice up your recipes with unique flavors, and add a healthy element to your meal, then we definitely recommend trying out these simple vinaigrettes made with red and white wine vinegar. They are both super easy to make, we promise!
1/4 cup red-wine vinegar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon sugar
Salt and black pepper, to taste
N/A black pepper
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
Whisk the vinegar, mustard, sugar, salt and pepper together in a small bowl. Whisking constantly, add the oil in a slow, steady stream and continue whisking until thickened.
White Wine Vinaigrette
2 tablespoons white wine
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
Mix the wine, lemon juice, honey, mustard, salt, and pepper in a blender. With the machine running gradually blend in the oil. Season the vinaigrette to taste with more salt and pepper, if desired.
