4 Enriching Reasons to Embrace Your Inner ArtistCreating art, no matter your skill level, has benefits far beyond pure enjoyment. Studies suggest that artistic activities can strengthen the brain, and improve overall mood for both adults and children. If you’re still in the fence about why embracing your inner artist is so important here are 4 reasons why you should.
1. Art is a proven stress reliever.
Remember to breathe. Sometimes we get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that we forget sit back and smell the roses. When you’re creating a work of art, your mind is focused on making each element perfect, cleansing your mind of worrisome thoughts.
2. Embracing your inner artist helps you appreciate who you are.
We are all unique in our own way. No two pieces of art ever turn out the same, but it’s the differences in our artistic abilities that make each work of art special. Art teaches us to be ourselves, and embrace the colors, textures, or patterns that speak to who we are.
3. Art is a gentle reminder to appreciate the small things in life.
That one small detail in your painting can make a world of a difference. It’s the small things in life we usually take for granted, and in the grand scheme of things, it's the details that make life so special.
4. Art gives you the power to be deviant and take risks.
Creating art gives you the power to express yourself and experiment with new colors, styles, or techniques. In our classes, if you want to deviate from the artist's instruction and add something funky to your painting, we say GO FOR IT! Actually, we encourage our guests to get a little crazy with the colors and just have fun!
