WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
WHEN DID YOU DECIDE YOU WANTED TO BE AN ARTIST?
Whenever I was old enough to start holding a crayon.
WHERE AND WHAT DID YOU STUDY?
I studied at the Glassel Junior School in Houston as a child where I learned how to paint with watercolors, animate, and sew.
As an adult I studied at the University of Texas at Austin with a BFA in Studio Art. I also studied art and art history abroad in Tuscany during the summer of 2013.
WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION FOR YOUR PERSONAL ARTWORK?
My personal artwork is largely inspired by the art of video games, animation, Alphonse Mucha and Botticelli. Concept art and character design are my forte.
WHY ARE YOU EXCITED TO BE A PART OF THE PINOT’S PALETTE TEAM?
I love teaching, hosting parties, and meeting new people, so I’m excited to have a job that combines all of these elements! It’s also a joy to work alongside all the great artists and staff at Pinot’s Palette in Kingwood.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PINOT’S PALETTE PAINTING?
I’m really fond of the mini canvas Monday forest paintings. The colors and atmosphere in them are quite lovely, and I want to paint “Crimson Pathway” and “Enchanted Mist” one of these days.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO IN HOUSTON?
My favorite thing to do in Houston is to go the Museum district and Herman Park. I used to be a wildlife handler at the Houston Museum of Natural Science, so I am particularly fond of visiting HMNS whenever I can.
WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK YOU READ? MOVIE WATCHED?
Book: Dance of Dragons by George R. R. Martin on Audio Book.
Movie: A Series of Unfortunate Events on Netflix. (The series might not be a movie proper, but the combined episodes are pretty much movie length).
