Disconnect reconnect- Spring is the best time
Are you as excited as we are that the season is changing? We see new leaves and flowers everywhere and people are trading in their winter gear for beautiful spring florals and fancy footwear. Over the next few weeks, we will being bring you a series of posts that encourage our readers to disconnect from electronic gadgets and reconnect with family or friends. We believe that the season naturally lends itself to some outdoor activities that do not involve screens. Here are a few activities that you can get the entire family involved in:
Playing your family board game: How about getting the family together for a Monopoly quest or a Twister face-off? Whatever the game might be, the key is to unplug for an hour and do some family activities together.
Take a walk: If you are like us, you might have just hibernated over the last three months of winter (ok!! Perhaps some of you did a lot of indoor exercising!). Shrug off the last few months, take a nature walk and look at all the Spring colors. This is something the whole family can do or it can be a solo walk. Its a way to take some time away from your screens or other gadgets and enjoy the beautiful outdoors that Cincinnati has to offer.
Call on a long-lost friend for coffee/painting: We all have friends we haven't connected in a long time. Why not go out and get a coffee or even better head over to Pinot’s Palette and paint a beautiful masterpiece to reconnect that bond? Attending a paint and sip party, enjoying a glass of wine and comparing notes from the past few months can be truly invigorating for a good friendship.
Try a new recipe or bake something: We are not exaggerating when we say - baking can be very therapeutic. No need to take out a word for it. There are many scientific publications backing this idea. So go ahead and give it a try and get the kids involved, they might get a kick out of it. We know how hard it is to get those little ones disconnect. Give them a fun excuse!
We hope you try some of these ideas or all of them! We will keep them coming. Be sure to check out a calendar for some excellent painting ideas.
