Wine + Entertaining
Wine WisdomEveryone loves a little wise words of wisdom, and who is the wisest person if not a person that has been drinking a little wine! These words of wine or is it wisdom are just some things I have picked up from over the years from REAL wine connoisseurs.
Cheers!
1. When your only choices are cheap wines, go ahead and save yourself the headache and take a cab home!
Now this does not mean you should always abide by this, because we should all partake in a great $5 bottle of wine from time to time in order to relive the glory days of time that has passed, and that time is called your 20s! So when the vino is served in plastic cups (I'm looking at you airlines) or from a box (I'm looking at you Aunt Pearl) and you actually have a life to live the next day aim for a chardonnay or a cabernet sauvignon. Even if it is cheap and you can't be rude and jump in a cab because "hey she's family" these two wines generally will go easy on us mature folks.
2. For goodness sake hold your wine glass by the stem!
I am pretty sure there is a reason beyond my OCD reason of “you’re putting your fingerprints all over it!” When you cup is full it doesn’t matter but as it slowly slips down inch by inch you start to see all of the grubby little fingerprints and well that’s just embarrassing, what have you been eating Cheetos or something! Of course whose wine glass ever really empties… a slacker that’s who! I digress the real reasons to hold the stem is for a white, it keeps the wine from warming up and the red is so you can see the color and clarity.
That's is all the wittiness I have for the day! Until next time Huntsville!
