Kade's Playground Fundraiser!Come help us provide a great place for kids of Herculaneum.
Childhood is a precious time for any child, but when a child’s days are limited on this earth their family and friends rally to make each moment count. Josh and Annette Bauman did just that for their son Kade. Kade was born with Mitochondrial Disease that causes many complications including seizures and global developmental delays. Kade’s parents dreamed of the day he could play on a playground like every other child. Unfortunately, typical playgrounds are not designed for most children and adults with disabilities and/or life critical illnesses. Kade, at the young age of 3, was called to Heaven last year on October 14th, 2011. His passing fueled both Josh and Annette‘s determination to bring a universally accessible playground to his community. Josh reached out to Natalie Blakemore, founder of Unlimited Play who has successfully completed 4 playgrounds in the area, and together along with a very dedicated Mayor, Park Board, and Fire Department it is happening for the community of Jefferson County.
Imagine a place where all children (with and without disabilities) can play side by side, a play environment where children can build confidence, strengthen muscles, exercise, and foster friendships. Yes, a state-of-the-art playground is coming!
Come help us raise money for the new Bay of Naples Splash Zone at Kade's Playground in Herculaneum. For every reservation, a portion will be donated to the new park for the kids in the area. Help us make it possible for them!
We have had the privileged of hosting an event for the same cause in December and we were so touched by the response of the public. We had a sold out event in which the mother of Kade was able to be present. You can tell by her face that this was important to her and her family which is why we agreed to open our doors again to help make this special place possible. We are hoping for the same response this next go around and we hope to see you all there again.
