Class Details

Prices start at $20 for an 8 x10" canvas, supplies and self-guided instructions.

Freestyle Afternoons are designed for people looking for some unstructured creative things to do individually or with friends. All painters must be 21+. We have over 70 paintings with written "self-guided" instructions to help you create your personal masterpiece on an 8 x 10" canvas. Anticipate 1 hour to complete your masterpiece so please arrive no later than 3:00 p.m. NO ARTIST HELP WILL BE AVAILABLE IN OUR OPEN STUDIO SETTING.

If you have some prior art experience or just like to try new things, you are welcome to paint anything in our studio that catches your fancy, but instructions are only provided for the designated 8"x10" paintings. Upgrade in studio to a 16 x 20” or 10 x 30” canvas for only $5 more. Tote bag, apron or wood pallet upgrade, $10.

Reservations are not required but are highly recommended to ensure we are prepared for you. Sorry, no discounts on this class.

NO REFUNDS will be issued for reservations. However, if you cancel with at least 4 hours’ notice for our open studio your payment will be turned into a store credit that can ONLY be used for a future class within 30 days. Please email us (alameda@pinotspalette.com) to cancel.

If you no-show, or don't give at least 4 hours’ notice, you forfeit your reservation payment and will not receive a credit. Seats are transferrable.

BE RESPECTFUL: We reserve the right to request loud guests to leave without refund or credit if you do not respond to our polite requests.

  • What is the guest cancellation policy?

    ALL SALES ARE FINAL. - Due to the custom nature of ALL of our classes, NO REFUNDS will be issued for reservations! However, if you cancel with at least 48 hours’ notice (2 business days’ notice is required for cancellation of private event reservations) your payment will be turned into a store credit that can ONLY be used for a future class within 30 days. Please email us (alameda@pinotspalette.com) to cancel. If you no-show for a class that you have a spot reserved, or don't give at least 48 hours’ notice (2 business days’ notice for private events), you forfeit your reservation payment. By completing the check-out process you agree to this policy. Seats are transferrable, but you need to notify us at least 3 hours prior to a class with the name change. CLASS MINIMUM: If a public class does not meet the minimum of 10 painters, you may be notified and we will fully refund or reschedule your class.

  • How much does it cost for a PUBLIC CLASS?

    We offer 2-hour ($39 per painter) and 3-hour ($49 per painter) painting sessions. See class schedule and times for details. Minimum age is 21 to participate due to California liquor laws. Please see events tab for private event cost.

  • How do I sign up for a class?

    Signing up is easy. Click the event calendar tab to view our current schedule. Select which painting you would like to paint and click "Add Painting to Cart." Follow the on-screen directions to complete the order. Contact us if you have trouble completing your order and we will walk you through the process.

  • Can I have a group come to a class?

    We love groups! Just let us know if you are celebrating and who is in your group via email or in the seating requests.

  • Is wine or beer included or can I bring my own?

    No outside beverages or BYOB allowed. Alcohol is not included with the painting class fee. We feature East Bay wine and craft beer as well as nonalcoholic beverages for purchase by the glass or bottle.
