Session III - Explore the top 20 of 20th Century Art

July 8 – 12th   9am – 12pm


Get to know the original Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael—the superheroes of art history. It takes a special individual to be known just by their first name hundreds of years later!  This session will feature the inventions and art of the Renaissance, as well as some of the coolest scientific discoveries made at that time


Monday
 – We will build flying machines like DaVinci using construction paper, straws and tape!  We will learn about these great masters Leonardo DaVinci and Michelangelo, then they will recreate our very own Mona Lisa.   

Tuesday - Galileo’s Solar System

We will build our own telescopes with our very own constellations in view. Learn about the stars and the night sky.  Explore the summer constellations and recreate your own night sky painting.   

Wednesday – Friday

The Pixie and the Pegasus: Fantasy Creature Creations

We will explore mystical worlds and creatures. Learn about the origins mythology and legends, fairy tales, and the classics such as the stories from The Lord of the Rings, The Brothers Grimm, The Chronicles of Narnia, and yes, even Harry Potter!

Our imagination will create art from dragons and dwarves, griffins and giants, the phoenix and the fairy. We will create artwork full of fun and fantasy. We may even play a fantasy board game or two such as Dungeons and Dragons, Mice and Mystics and or Harry Potters Mystery at Hogwarts.

Art Enrichment Programs for Summer 2015!!

Little Brushes by Pinot’s Palette presents Art Enrichment Programs for your kids, coming Summer 2015!

For a reasonable cost, you can drop off your kids from 9am-Noon weekdays at our Stamford studio in Harbor Point where they will be taken daily on a hands-on journey of artistic discovery, creativity and wonderment.  Would your child want to build his or her own alien?  Help to make a cool mural?  Paint a personalized Lego character?  Here is the chance to help make your child a mini-master!  Sign up for the week or just the day (space permitting).

Our helpful, trained staff will guide your little ones  on Weekly Themes through different activities each day, all designed to help them flourish! 

Week 1:          June 22rd  –  June 26, 2015     (From Totems to Teepee's to Early American Art Week)
Week 2:          June 29th     –  July 2nd, 2015   (Super Heroes, Lego's & Robots Week)
Week 3:          July 8th    –  July 12th, 2015      (Explore the Top 20 of 20th-Century Art)
Week 4:          Aug 17th –  Aug 21st, 2015      (Mastering the 'NEW' Classics.  Pinot's Palette Painiting Week)

Each week of class is based on artistic themes (Click on Each Title for Detailed Description):

Week One:   From Totems to TeePee's to Early American Art

   The week begins exploring the art and culture of Native Americans            from historic to present.  From cave paintings to dream catchers, we        will get ‘hands on’ with our Native American art!  We then move on to      explore the art of the early American Settlers to try our hands at some      folk art painting.   

Week Two:    Super Heroes, Lego's and Robots!!

   Paint a personalized Lego character! Design your own robot on canvas,       then build it out of 3D materials! Learn to think like a robot and move like       a robot. Design and launch your own rocket!  Make your own balloon car     that moves.  Have a special day where a Lego expert comes to the               studio to help us create Lego sculptures!

Week Three:  Explore the top 20 of 20th Century Art!

Week Four:   Master the 'NEW' classics!  Classic Pinot's Palette Kids' Paintings!
   
   You know them and love them!  Come paint the classic Pinot's Palette      paintings including the Sweet 'Bonkers for Bubble Gum' the Sharp              'Bettie Blowfish' the Delectable 'Dripping Delight' and the Jolly 'Jolly          Giraffe at Dusk' among others! 



Session I

June 22 – 26, 2015   9:30am – 12:30pm

From Totems to TeePee’s to Early American Art

The week begins exploring the art and culture of Native Americans from historic to present.  From cave paintings to dream catchers, we will get ‘hands on’ with our Native American art!  We then move on to explore the art of the early American Settlers to try our hands at some folk art painting. 

The week at a glance: 

Monday – Cave Painting Day

We explore cave paintings and their meanings.  We’ll then design our own cave paintings, creating cave animals and the stories to go with it.  

Tuesday - Totem Pole Day.   

We will learn about the totem pole and story telling involving the totem pole!  We will make our own Totems.  

Wednesday – TeePee Day

Today we will make Teepee’s, rain sticks and Dream catchers. We will explore Native American patterns of different Native American tribes.  

Thursday-  Spirit Animal Day

Using collage techniques and painting, we’ll design our own animal spirit.  We explore different meanings of the animal spirits from the Native American shamans and tribes.  

Friday – American Folk Art Painting Day
We will learn about the American settlers and how they painted and what they painted.  We will explore the world of painter and Connecticut resident Rufus Porter and we will make a painting resembling one of his!


Session II - Super Heroes, Lego’s and Robots

June 29th – July 2, 2015 (4 days to accommodate 4th of July Holiday)

Monday - Draw and create your own Superhero on paper then paint it on canvas!

Tuesday - Create your own face cut-out painting from Using five different templates based on favorite cereal boxes: Sun Maid Raisins, and Swiss Miss Coco.  You can even use your super hero from the previous day!

Wednesday
– Build your own robot out of  found materials, straws and paper.   Then we have a special visit from the Lego robotics bricks and motor Lego specialists. 


Thursday – Cartooning and comic strips and Japanese Animation!
